Summer at California College of the Arts is a great time for undergraduate and graduate students to work with a visiting artist, explore a new discipline or venue, develop skills, satisfy a requirement or Elective, and stay on track for graduation.
Every summer CCA offers approximately 40 degree courses that are scheduled throughout the summer on the San Francisco and Oakland campuses. While many courses are scheduled at the onset of summer, additional courses are offered throughout.
Studio courses typically take place during the day, while Humanities and Sciences courses are offered during the day and evening.
Because the class schedules are varied, students are able to select courses that enable them to earn credits and satisfy degree requirements while also allowing ample time to visit family, work, intern, travel, etc.
Please note that shuttle service between campuses is not available during summer session.
Summer Study Abroad
CCA offers approximately 10 study-abroad and off-campus courses each summer. Because of their unique nature, summer study-abroad programs have earlier registration and withdrawal/refund deadlines.
Summer Degree for Non-CCA Students
While summer degree courses are designed for current matriculated CCA students, students who are in good standing at other accredited colleges and meet course prerequisites (where applicable), may register on a space-available basis.

Financial aid (scholarships and loans) is only available to matriculated CCA degree students.
