Summer Art workshops in Vermont

The Southern Vermont Arts Center’s Summer Art Workshop Series continues with a slate of courses, for a variety of skill levels, offered by nationally and internationally recognized artists and instructors. Pastels, watercolor and oil painting are on the syllabus.

‘Achieving Gorgeous Color and Luminous Light’ with Robert Carsten, July 29 to August 2, will explore various ways to correspond the subject of landscape with contemporary artistic concerns. All skill levels and media welcome. ‘Introduction to Landscape in Watercolor’ with Robert O’Brien, July 30 to August 2, will cover the basic principles of landscape painting in watercolor for the beginning and intermediate painter. Other classes include: Painting Still Life in Oils with Elizabeth Torak; Pastel Landscapes from Photographs with Mallory Rich; and Watercolor Plein Air Painting with Ned Reade.
